What format (codec) is your source video?

Your footage looks fine in the Sequence window, but actually some of it not showing. Click on the word Motion in the Effects controls and notice that the bounding box in the Sequence window is wider that the frame…720 square pixels is about 10% wider than 720 .89 PAR pixels.

6.5 was a stable version for most.
Check Device Manager and the driver for your Display Adapter. If you did not install Windows 7 drivers for it, Windows might have installed generic VGA drivers. I have installed 7 on one PC that it happened and it could not play back video smoothly in any app. AND there is no driver available!!!

The audio is likely Dolby. The work-around on the PC side was to copy a file (ad2ac3dec.dll) from Encore’s program folder to Premiere’s.

Sounds like video card redraw issue. Try updating your video card drivers.

25p would work better if your output is for viewing on a PC monitor.

Using the correct Sequence Preset is important for smooth playback. What are the properties of your source video?

Your expectations are a bit high working with a highly compressed consumer format. You will loose some quality, especially deinterlacing for playback on a computer monitor..
Your sequence preset should be “AVCHD 1080i25” square pixels.
If your monitor can display 1920 pixels and your video is on a internal SATA 2 drive., export Using the H264 preset “HDTV 1080p 25 High Quality”. -
I suspect Premiere is choking on 350 5MP pics and running your system out of memory. Try resizing your pics to 1200x 900 and saving as bitmaps using a Photoshop action.
