As soon as I write this, someone will prove me wrong.
Premiere’s titler lacks feather options. Photoshop or Photoshop Elements can create titles with much more style, including feathering and blending modes than Premiere.

If you mean another system with Premiere Pro…yes. Select the title in the Project window and choose File>Export>Title
That will respect the alpha channel.BUT
apparently you cant export an alpha channel frame off the timeline…even millions+ of colors and maximum bitdepth for Targa and Tiff images…the alpha channel is lost.Photoshop Rules!

More and more folks are buying camcorders that produce highly compressed video files not easily edited. Premiere Elements 3 can handle many but not all of these and when it does permit editing, the end results look really poor.
My best advise to buy a HD camcorder in the less than $2,000 range is to make sure it uses Mini-DV tapes.

You might try Newlive All Media Fixer, but I doubt it will work…your file lacks a wrapper or header file.
Premiere is giving you a running total (space remaining) in the capture window while you are capturing.

A mono track should play the same audio to both left and right channels on a stereo system…does for me.

The best codec for your purpose is NONE.avi or completely decompress the video. The files will be 10x the size of your other efforts and the results will probably be about the same. Further, after editing the files and recompressing again will further degrade the video.
Mpeg 4 is a highly compressed file and not designed for editing. -
It should not take more than about 2 hours for the entire process. I suspect the burn process is where things are hanging up, but to verify that choose Burn to “Folder” in the Burn DVD window.

I have seen problems with Premiere and burning DVDs with error messages but nothing about just stopping. Often another disc burning app is the culprit, especially Sonic and Roxio.
My workflow involves using Premiere to generate the elementary streams (Media Encoder) for use in Encore. The biggest advantage with Encore is Dolby audio encoding.
