Disk Full during PremPro2 Capture corrupts AVI file
Hi,
I was using Premiere Pro 2 to capture live video from my dv-camcorder direct to HDD and it ran out space giving a Disk Full error and no option to save the file.
The .AVI file exists on the drive I originally told the software to save it to, but all attempts at accessing the file have failed, usually with a “not an AVI file” error.
Is there any way to salvage the captured footage from the file?
Is there a way to get the software to anticipate imminent shortage of space (as VirtualDub does) and offer a way to save the existing capture, rather than just stopping and corrupting the file?
Any help gratefully received 🙂

You might try Newlive All Media Fixer, but I doubt it will work…your file lacks a wrapper or header file.
Premiere is giving you a running total (space remaining) in the capture window while you are capturing.
