If you are unrolling a futuristic transparent screen, why not use a clear piece of plastic as a stand-in. Think the thick stuff like the covers of those report folders you used in school. You would not have to key anything and the reflections off the plastic would actually enhance the look of the shot. Plus, it would give your talent something physical to use and make his hand placements steady. It would also preserve the green screen behind and make keying easier. Just a thought.

Why not precomp the camera with the depth of field with the layers you want blurred and then animate your sharp layer on top with the same camera settings, just no depth of field turned on. Sometimes simple is best.

I think if you multiply the zoom on the imported camera in after effects by 1.111, everything will line up correctly. I think I remember reading that somewhere regarding boujou and afx.

    Jace,

I know you posted this a loooooooong time ago, but I have done 2 tutorials on the bond intro – one for after effects using the old style gun barrel, and one for 3d max for the new style, which is exactly what you are looking for. They are here on Creative Cow in the after effects section and 3d max tutorial sections, respectively. Any questions, just ask.

Are you viewing the bullets from the side or looking at your target like you are actually holding the gun. This will determine where you put your emitter.

Using Particular, use a point emitter, change it to directional, change the spread to 0 to line up the direction toward your target by rotating the emitter in the x,y,and z axis. Then, simply change the spread angle until the rounds spread out enough to your taste. You can mess with velocity and even have the rounds die when they hit your layer if you change the settings to bounce and use your target layer as a wall or floor.

What kind of music are you looking for? videohelper.com has great stuff and it is royalty free and high quality, just not free.

    Bogie,

After the times that I have defended you on this forum, you are going to give me grief about a little thing like the proper rotation of the earth on a free tutorial? Come on, man!
