    Hi,

First of all, I’m new here. I just read the rules and I think I’m complying to all of them. Please do tell me if I say/do/type anything that is against the rules.

Anyway, straight to the question: Is there any tutorial on the Internet on how one can replicate the famous James Bond Gun Barrel? I’ve been searching for the past few hours (well.. just 2,5. But still..) and thought I might be better of just asking the question to a community dedicated to video editing and effects.

I’d like to have reflections in the barrel, but I could do without that and just make a barrel (without reflections of the scene) with Photoshop and use Premier Pro to get the person playing Bond in (as I’m familiar with those two programs. I’ve got barely any experience with After Effects, so I’d prefer PP for that, though I think these reflections, if possible, can only be done in AE). The problem is getting that blood dripping effect, I’ve got absolutely no idea on how to get that. I can get everything right (without reflections), but I really can’t do the blood part.

So, if anyone knows of a good (clear) tutorial for the full effect, or if you know how to just get that dripping blood effect, please tell me.

As some background information: It’s for a small (amateur) movie. We’re not going to earn a single coin with this, it’s just for some local entertainment (and it won’t be a comedy). It’s in Dutch, not English, and we’re sort of recreating a James Bond and so, this is quite essential.

    Thanks in advance.

    Jace,

I know you posted this a loooooooong time ago, but I have done 2 tutorials on the bond intro – one for after effects using the old style gun barrel, and one for 3d max for the new style, which is exactly what you are looking for. They are here on Creative Cow in the after effects section and 3d max tutorial sections, respectively. Any questions, just ask.

    Best of luck
