Do you have any example vids or pics. I am having trouble visualizing what you are asking.

As for your first new question, the answer is dependant on the resolution of your final output and the size of your element. For example, if your are outputing 720p, then a full sized element should be about 1280 x 720. If you plan on doing a bunch of zooming in, size your element so that at the closest zoom, you have a large enough element so as to avoid artifacts and pixelation. As for your other question, I am not the one to ask as I rarely use flash, and by that I mean I have openeded it 2x in my life.

    Hope this helps

Do you want AE to interpolate between the frames our simply switch from one frame to another. For the latter, check out Aharon’s tutorial section. For the former, there are a variety of ways to do this depending on the shot. For a static face, you may try using the liquid effect and setting several keyframes outside you animation. Then simply copy the keyframes to the proper place. AE will interpolate between the frames. Also, you can keyframe percentages between the neutral position and the new keyframed so that each sound doesn’t look exactly the same. One could be at 100 percent, with another at 80 percent.

I think this has been covered in the tutorials section. Check Aharon’s tutorials as well as Andrew Kramers. I know you can achieve this effect with Trapcode Particular or any other particle generator where you can keyframe the particle emitter and particles per second.

If you have trapcode particular, you can achieve this effect pretty easily. Just create a custom particle (bubble) and use the air physics. Increase spin and turb and adjust the velocity of the particle and there you have it.

    Hope this helps

    Lori,

In defense of bogiesan, he was only trying to help. That is why he has the disclaimer regarding his standard signature. If he were truly rude, he would not try and help anyone, just take other’s knowledge for free like so many others. I think his sigfile is very appropriate in most cases. Too many people just run and ask for someone to do it for them without resorting to looking it up in the manual themselves.
Simply put, that comment was not directed to you and I have always found bogiesan to be both helpful and respectful in his posts – and I have read alot of them.

As for your question, I am at a loss personally, I am a PC guy, not a mac guy – regardless of the great mac propaganda.

    Sorry,

I did not look at the tutorial you posted. Yes, this is simple, but if you have Trapcode form, just use a custom particle. Form supports the same particles as does Particular. You just dont have the bounce abilities that Particular possesses. If you use Particular, just use a layer emitter and follow along with the Form tutorial. It will work out the same. You may have to tweak the settings in Particular to get the same look, but use Air Physics, wind, turb field and you should get similar results.

If you use trapcode particular, just animate a mask to wipe away your footage and then duplicate that layer and change the mask so it reveals only a small strip of your text as it disappears. Then use the strip layer as a layer emitter for Particular. You may want to turn the text pure white. You may need to precompose the strip layer for Particular to read it correctly. Also, you cant use any aux particles with this method–try it, and you will see why.

Are you applying the track data to a null and then linking the text to the null? You might want to check out Grant Swanson’s tutorial on text stuck to a white board in the tutorials section. It is probably what you need.

    Chris,

If I understand your problem correctly, you are matchmoving footage and then attempting to import the data and camera into after effects to align with the footage and the problem you are having is that the markers and the footage align in the matchmoving software, but not in AFX.

I have had the same problem myself. In my case, the source of the problem was the way AFX reads the matchmove data. I exported using a Maya .ma file and then imported that into AFX. It created 2 comps, one with a normal name, and one with Square in front of it. Try this, open up the comp with Square in front of it, drop your original footage into it and then scale the footage 90% in both x and y. Assuming the frame rates are the same, this should align the markers with the footage. The problem is that you now have a reduced resolution composition. Increasing comp size wont fix the problem. If you notice, the normal comp has an pixel aspect of .9 with the square having an aspect of 1, with the horizontal width scaled down to .9.

The work around I have at present is not ideal, but does work. Simply scale your footage up by dividing the pixel size by .9. Then output your footage from AFX. Import the large footage into your matchmoving app and do everything normally. when you import the .ma file in AFX, simply open up your Square comp and drop the normal (smaller) sized footage into it. It should now work perfectly. You will have extra space in the top and bottom of the comp. Simply resize the vertical size of the comp to the original specs and you have it.

This of course presupposes that you have the same problem as I had. If so, I hope it helps, if it is a different problem, best of luck to you.

    Mike
