Isn’t it frustrating just how stupid some of these problems are! The next problem is to figure out if there is any way of making a small cut in a programme without having to remix the whole thing because the mixes are all in the wrong place! Maybe the IN/OUT thing is a clue? – I’ll experiment. Failing that, if I could find some way of deleting all keyframes it would at least speed the process of remixing.

I have indeed done a select all and pasted into a new sequence. It all looks to be there, which is pretty impressive if true, but I might wait for the strength of a new morning before actually checking it all! Many thanks for your help and greetings from sunny Scotland.

Sorry – was using pointer, not pen tool. That looks like a possible dodge. Copying the complete sequence of clips is something I could try but it is over 60 mins and has hundreds of edits.

I have tried creating new tracks but they are also similarly inhibited. There seems to be no way of selecting a group of keyframes. When I try what you suggest, all I succeed in doing is deleting the clip. If I create a new sequence, then I do seem to have control of track volume but I don’t know how that is going to help as I have already tried importing the sequence into a new project. The problem seems to be with the main sequence.

Curiously I can edit individual keyframes by dragging them, I can delete them and I can add new ones by clicking on the button at the left of the track. It just seems to be the write function that is inhibited somehow. If I could at least clear all the keyframes I could go back to using clip rubber bands and get the project out that way. As it is, I seem to be completely screwed.

I’ve just tried that but I still have the same problem. I have checked by right clicking the fader in the audio mixer window and the tracks are not set to ‘safe during write’.

I have established that the audio mixer does work on an earlier version of this edit. Does that mean the file is corrupted in some way? Is there any way of resetting whatever has got cooked?

I did try inhibiting the 5th audio track but to no effect. After rebooting and trying again it did make an attempt to do an EDL but then crashed before finishing. Three more attempts ended the same way!

You might also want to look at the various options under clip/field options. Flicker removal for instance produces some really nice effects on flowing water.
