Yes it is. Just go to https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates/vegaspro and grab the latest version.

Yes. That’s the one. Here’s what my preview window looks like after I drop it over top of an animation and add an outline to my text.

Yes it is because Vegas users do this every day.
Any changes I make to anything on my timeline (adding an effect, shadow to text, etc.) are instantly shown in the preview window so I’m not sure why you can’t see it.

Are you adding Legacy Text or Titles and Text?
Either way, are you adding the Default option?

There are all kinds of tutorials on the Sony site as well as all over YouTube.
The manual is always a great place to start as it explains everything.

If you’re talking about setting each photo is visible on your timeline, go Options > Preferences > Editing and set New still image length to the desired time.
You can also choose to have all images overlap by clicking the Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added box and entering in the desired time.

I’ve used a T5i with footage from my JVC HM-750 (both shooting 24p) and haven’t noticed any problems. The JVC records in mp4 and the T5i is mov. If there are too many mov files in a project (more than 50 as I recall) it will bog Vegas down a lot. If that’s going to happen I convert all my mov files to either MXF or XAVC as both formats keep the original quality and are very Vegas friendly and easy to edit.
