Okay man! It’s very easy!! on the bottom layer you have you footage anf on the top layer in your time line you have your animated text. on the layer with you footage, look at the alpha option’s in modes. and select ‘alpha matte’ if you can’t find mode there’s a box in the top right hand side of your time line click it cloumns>modes and then it should appear!

Does anyone know how to use this effect?? if would be SOO helpful! can 3d stroke paths be filled in?????

There are some tut’s on creative cow.
What i would do is have a solid 20 pixels squared and in comp. create a path inside another comp for the movement. get the previous solid add it in to the second comp and have it animate along your path. Then apply the effect ‘echo’ the way the created the gradient shine is through lights with in the second comp. blah blah blah actually here’s the link!Joe Chao is the guy who created the tut below is the link!

it looks like they used a ‘Trapcode’ plug-in ‘particular’ i’m only just learning myself so the way i’d do it would be to create a mask and use particular to fill up the space??? if that makes sence?? the plug in can be purchased at http://www.trapecode.com and the company who did the video is http://www.blind.com that should lead you in the right direction.
