That looks like the way to go, John. Thanks. The next thing would be to find a good drive for it.

Thanks John. I have to see just what I can do. There is not much room in my now seemingly ancient box. I do have a vertical bay that was for an HP personal storage drive. The other DVD bay is full of wires from the upgraded power supply when I put the new video card and the first Sata drive in.

I could use this outside the box, John. I like this idea, Thanks. Now to find a decent SATA drive.

Thanks Carl! That was pretty painless…. I need to familiarize myself with this program again. Should be like riding a bike, but I’d probably have a hard time with that, too.;^) Thanks again

Thanks James. I’ll give that a shot and hope to try and duplicate the video wall as displayed in the Avid tutorial.

James, I have most of the controls, but there is a “General Controls” in the Avid tutorial that shows the BCC8 Control panel. General Controls is absent in Vegas Pro BCC8. This is just one of the problems I come across when trying to decipher the tutorials of other NLE’s to adapt to Vegas. The PDF manual helps for some Vegas applications, but is incomplete at best.

I don’t see anything other than the installed trial of the proDad Mercalli 3 (SAL) Would the codec within that program still have an effect on Vegas Pro?
I don’t know what to look for in the regedit nor do I really want to go there, but if I must…..All of your help is greatly appreciated.

No Larry, I have a Panasonic TM900 that shoots in 1080/60p. VP12 12 sees the camera as a drive. I can either import the footage from the camera’s drive or card to VP12 or download the files directly to my eSata or external drive. I can then use the explorer in VP12. Most of the time I drag files directly to the timeline from an open drive. It is easier for me to see more of the content than what the explorer window in VP12 provides.

I have used royalty free music that I paid for that someone flagged as their own with a different title. I proved I owned the music and never heard about it again. To my understanding some of these royalty free song lists are traded like sports cards and renamed and retitled, but the algorithms still identify the original. I also used some pieces of copyrighted stuff that does not allow the video to be viewed in other countries and my account is not penalized.
Early on I used copyrighted music full length for one piece and then cut it in the middle for another. The cut piece was identified as an entirely different song. Go figure. There are many, many paragraphs written on the subject. All of which is a big ball of confusion. Best to stay away from it entirely.
