I looked into this quite some time ago. Set first Vertex can only be done in AE, Illustrator does not have this.

Is there something else besides assigning an art or pattern brush to a vector path, that setting the first vertex would be important for in Illustrator??? If it is a brush you want to assign, you can use the scissor tool to cut it where you want it to start. As far as whether it winds clockwise or counterclockwise, that is a problem I have not found a solution for.

First remove any roman numeral section numbering within your document (use the pages palette), then create all your standard number sections, and at the end and add your roman numeral section.

The other tip that can help you is that you can hit tab to enter the style box and use the up and down cursor keys to change the value, rather than using the mouse to choosing the drop down.

When you insert pages from flyout menu or if you alt click on thje insert page icon, you will get a menu asking where you want to put the pages.

The choices are (before, after, start , end). The new pages you insert will pick up the sectioning of the section you insert into. So you make the choice then of what is shal pick up.

For example if you have a 6 page document, the first 3 pages are (i, ii, iii) and the last 3 are (1,2,3). If when you choose insert pages you choose after page iii you will add roman numeral pages (iv, v, vi). If you choopse before 1, then you will insert standard numeric pages (1,2,3) before your original page 1(page 4 out of 6).

You probably could have done your majority (the number sections) first then go back to the beginning of your book and do your (roman numer section).

You also with the numbering sectiosn window open, hold down alt/opt and the cancel button will go to reset, if you ever need to.

I did this on InDesign CS3 on PC and it worked fine using internet explorer.

Then took my pdf and opened it on the mac and it worked fine (Safair was not booted when I clicked on the link).

I looked over the preferences in Safari, and the only one of interest was Open links from application, and mine is set to “In new window”. Which doesn’t make sense, as when i already had a window open, it did open the pdf link in a new window.

I beleive your problem will not be solved within InDesign or even the mighty Acrobat, but within Safari or somewhere in your Mac OS.

Does this happen if you click on a link in any other application?
Can you try this clicking on the link on another computer?

You should save your new logo with the same filename and location as the original.

As you open InDesign files with the logo, you will be asked whether you wish to update the link automaticaly, say yes.

Now if your new logo has a different size than the original it should scale to match the original logo size. If you do not wish this to happen, then go to
edit >> preferences >> file handling >> (uncheck: relink preserves dimensions)

On smallest file size: Color conversion should already be set to “convert to destination”, and destination to sRGB.

Not sure why your smallest size preset was different, but glad that your pdfs are coming out correctly now.

Firs u need a bitmapped image of the topside (the N logo).Place thsi image into Illustrator. Teh if the image is linkes, use the links palette to embed the image. Then drag the image into your symbol palette and give it a nade (eg: top)

Then in illustrator draw a cricle and choose Effect >> 3D >> Extrude & Bevel. Then click on map art, and choose the symobol , then choose which surface you wnat it ot go on (I hate this part cause you have a hard time telling the back from the front).

Besides changing some settings such as the bevel type and height, you shoudl have what you need.

In addition to freeze mask tool I recomend drawing a selection marquee slightly larger than your target area prior to choosing liquify (helps speed up things).

I have better success setting the brush strength to a low setting, and using the proper size brush.
