I’ve a GREAT luck with Hawaiki Keyer. Lots of tools to fix tough shots.
Also, have you tried color correcting before the keyer?

Thanks, Jeremy. Looking back to that day, I think I’d had some difficulty with a card that day. Thanks for clearing that up.

To follow up, be sure to make your audio track the source no matter which video source is chosen.

Hey… If I’m understanding (audio full record/video intermittent with matching audio), what has worked for me in the past was to just grab all the tracks and make a multicam clip using the audio as sync.
You wind up with a MC clip that has video sync’d to where it matches and black (with audio) where nothing was shot. Then, put the MC angle in the timeline and “switch” the camera to whatever is active at the right time.
Hope that helps.

I edit multi-cam a lot and have occasionally noticed it during editing, but when I output, it goes away.

January 2, 2019 at 12:44 am in reply to: Best Strategy for triming adjusting timing of edits?Hey Mark…
I usually connect my music to the first frame of a gap clip and then blade edits to the gap to rough in some “timed” edits. Then I find selects and drop them on top of those “dummy” clips using the “replace from start” feature. From there, it sounds like you might want to try utilizing the “T” command a bit more. It will let you slip/slide/roll footage and edit,, etc. – depending if you select both sides of an edit, on the clip itself, etc.. You can also try “lifting from storyline” sometime. This will fill in the clip with a gap in the storyline, leaving all else in place. So many of these things are second nature in my workflow now, so I’m unsure if I’m even using the correct FCPX terminology. Lots of good tutorials from MacBreak Studio online.
All the best and Happy New Year…
