I don’t think there’s enough there for anybody to make any comments that will help you.

That said, the pricetag doesn’t look real. I’d put the text onto the pricetag before it swings in, and try to make the tag look more like paper than a solid pendulum. Slow it down, make it twist in the wind a smidge, have it settle at the bottom instead of coming to a halt… I dunno.

It looks like the whole thing could have been done by blending multiple shots of the train, taken from the same place, but at different times.

I would guess it was done using Masks and the Stroke or Write On effects.

Yup, totally different. Everything is working just great.

    Thanks again.

I’ll do that. I just downloaded it on Thursday (or last week anyway) so I must have just missed the update.

I’ll report back if I still get the warning.

The project file is on this page:

    https://theanvel.com/free_aeps.php

and is the third one listed: Beginners After Effects 7 Project for Download.

So, to answer the other posted question: I don’t know if it’s doing what it’s supposed to. I just got the program, and this is the first thing I’m trying.

My assumption is that the plugin is working, but the manual that comes with the program says they will have “.aex” extensions, very specifically not “.plugin” extensions. So, that’s part of the confusion.

    I’m on a Mac.

    Todd,

Thinking through my entire question, there’s still something I would like a bit of advice figuring out.

I tend to think of Flash as being “what they use to make internet banner ads” (although I know they do some TV animation with it), and AE as what one uses to do affects on top of film (although Aharon Rabinowitz refers to himself as an animator).

Where can I read about what the programs are best suited to do?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Todd, thank you. I’ll pour over those pages and start getting my hands dirty. Then I can ask some real questions.
