    Forgot to add.

Normally, I would think that the file is just 1080P with a frame rate of 59.94, but it looks interlaced. When I put it into Final Cut, I choose “change the sequence settings to match clip” and the settings change to 1080i, Field Dominance = None, and an editing time base of 29.97. And half of the spot’s video is missing. Also, In Compressor, the file shows up at progressive.

Thanks I could do that. A client wants XDCam files. We would be capturing from HDCam or D5. I figured it would work in Final Cut Capture like any other capture codec. I’ll test when the time comes.

Thanks for the response. I installed the HDV setups, but no XDCam setups came with them. Maybe in AJA’s next update.

I’m not sure how that would help me. Are HDV and XDCam the same codec? If I make an Easy Setup with XDCam, under the Capture Presets, what Digitizer would I use 10bit or 8bit?

Thanks for the help. It worked. It there anyway to do the same thing for XDCam Easy Setups? I did not see those options when I re-installed the drivers. I can make one myself, but I am not sure what the specs are for Capture presets.

Thanks. That’s what I had in mind and it came out fine. It looks good on tape as well (Digi and BetaSP.) Mostly, I wanted to know if anyone has had problems doing this so I know what to look out for – Flickering, Pixelation, etc.

    For Broadcast TV commercials

  • Thanks for responding. I guess the checkbox for “Different Output” in the AV Device setting was checked. I unchecked it and now there are no problems. I’m not sure how that happened, but hopefully it will help someone else.

Thanks folks. I’ll take your advice. I had that idea, but no one around to bounce it off.
