    Hi David

I made a few tests here.

same results… breaking apart makes the audio being in ‘unsupported format’… but if you do not break apart and directly open the (compound) clip’s timeline you can see the audio is already in an unsupported format from the beginning. Probably a bug in FCPX yes….

FWIW I tried with my foolcut_AE script and it exported the audio every time to AfterEffects : as a compound clip, when broken apart, still linked to the image and also with the audio only and image removed. I guess something was changed in FCPX 10.0.1/2 that OMF exporter is not aware of (I remember those updates changed some of the internal structure of FCPX project).

As a work around did you try to make compound clip at the end of your audio editing stage ? The clip will still show as unsupported format in the compound timeline but you will have access to the mono/stereo settings in the main timeline so hopefully will export OK…

    Thanks Bill

Yep tried to make it fun in an homage to HAL-9000, now it is almost fashionable with Siri…

I received several offers already for voice over but it seems I cannot “update” a vimeo clip with another media file so it would mean posting a new video so I gave up the idea. But for future products why not 🙂

    Simon,

I tried here with over 60 minutes projects (maybe not with source 300 clips but close) and nothing took more than 40 seconds…

Is there any other specifics to your project like a lot of Audition clips or anything particular coming to your mind ?

    Thanks

btw, new version 0.98 online fixes a few small issues and adds supports for non square pixels and timecode startime.

Hi Simon and thanks for the report, glad to hear it worked well

I am surprised it takes so long to convert 5 minutes… unless it is all RED footage as the REDline command I’m using to get the metadatas is very slow with the recent REDCine-X and the 300 clips would explain that.

Can you please email me or respond here with :
    – version of your system / type of computer
    – version of REDCine-X you are using (if conforming RED clips)

I will see if I can get a way of geting all those metadatas faster because all the rest of the script should take only a few seconds at worst.

latest version 0.97 supports FCP 10.0.1 and audio Roles are translated as AE markers. fixes several audio issues too.

With the new fcp xml released a FCP X <-> FCP 7 converter should come soon too !

Yep the voice is terrible but I was in a rush and couldn’t find someone around to do a nice voice… if you volunteer to record it I will greatly appreciate and replace the computer voice with yours 🙂

    Hi

Altho my app is an applescript (with over 2000 lines of code) it is not using any applescript command to control FCPX in any way.

The project data is simply read from the system and the applescript code is used to parse all the data and make the correct javascript code to reimport everything in AfterEffects.

check out the website I’ve added a list of all features and know issues or give the demo a try.

    Thanks

Thanks guys for your comments 🙂

I’m the author of this app and I’m open to any question or suggestion you may have.

I will add a demo video on the website to show it action today… and I’m working on exporting the audio in AE as it was already requested by someone
