September 21, 2011 at 9:41 pmTotally works! Thanks so much!
FYI
The music video I edited was 5 min in length. With just under 300 clips (heavy metal), 10 compound clips and 1 audio track. At first I thought Foolcut wasn’t doing anything as I was monitoring it using activity monitor. But alas it totally converted everything over to AE in about 1 hour. So if you have a lot of cuts and such just be patient. Would be nice if there was a progress meter. Are you guys going to translate Foolcut into a FCPXML reader?

September 22, 2011 at 6:49 amHi Simon and thanks for the report, glad to hear it worked well
I am surprised it takes so long to convert 5 minutes… unless it is all RED footage as the REDline command I’m using to get the metadatas is very slow with the recent REDCine-X and the 300 clips would explain that.
Can you please email me or respond here with :
– version of your system / type of computer
– version of REDCine-X you are using (if conforming RED clips)I will see if I can get a way of geting all those metadatas faster because all the rest of the script should take only a few seconds at worst.
Best

September 23, 2011 at 7:08 amSimon,
I tried here with over 60 minutes projects (maybe not with source 300 clips but close) and nothing took more than 40 seconds…
Is there any other specifics to your project like a lot of Audition clips or anything particular coming to your mind ?
Thanks
btw, new version 0.98 online fixes a few small issues and adds supports for non square pixels and timecode startime.
