  • I had the same problem this week and ended up in Export Media selecting Export: Audio only and Audio file format: AIFF file the exported AIFF I then used in Compressor with the standard Dolby Digital Professional setting to make a AC3 audio file.

I think that this can help with you with firewire ports killed by ESD.

    https://kramer-us.com/indexes/item.asp?name=PT-1FW
The PT-1FW is a line protector for FireWire signals. It is used in Plug and Play applications where constant plugging and unplugging of FireWire equipment can result in permanent damage to sensitive equipment due to ESD (electrostatic discharge).

On my AppleStore Sweden order it will ship on May 31st
but when I asked on the Weynand website about the new FCP 6 book I received this reply:

“The book is going to ship the same day as the software…aproximately May 15th.”

Last night I did order on their website a new DVD with Diana Weynand “WHATS NEW IN FINAL CUT PRO 6?” at NAB-BEA price $19.99

Has Apple changed the upgrade policies for Educational licenses?

    https://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/upgradeguide.html

What version of Final Cut Pro do I need to qualify for the Final Cut Pro 5 upgrade?
You can upgrade from any retail version of Final Cut Pro for only $399 or from any retail version of Final Cut Express for $699. Educational and Not-for-resale (NFR) versions do not qualify for upgrades.

Can I upgrade my educational version of Final Cut Pro?
No. Educational and Not-for-resale (NFR) versions do not qualify for upgrades.

Can I upgrade to Final Cut Studio if I have Final Cut Pro?
Yes. You may upgrade to Final Cut Studio from the retail version of Final Cut Pro for $699 or from the retail version of Production Suite for $499. Educational and Not-for-resale (NFR) versions do not qualify for upgrades.

Yes, you get the whole Final Cut Studio bundle for $699 if you have a FCP license.
I ordered the upgrade from the Swedish AppleStore and it was $40 cheaper for me to get the Final Cut Studio than do a upgrade from FCPHD and DVDSP3 plus I get Motion for “free”.
