Does that mean if I have ONLY Final Cut Pro HD I get the WHOLE studio pack for $699? If so, that is soooo awesome.

April 17, 2005 at 10:31 pmFinal Cut Pro 5: RT Extreme
Dynamic RT Extreme delivers high-quality, real-time effects in every format, including uncompressed HD.
It Dynamilcally adjusts the quality on the fly, they have a demo running 16 streams of HD that drop the quality to keep it in RT, then back to 1 stream and the quality jumps back to 100%Final Cut Pro 5: Multicam Editing
Powerful multicam editing tools let you cut video from multiple sources in real time.
This looks really cool, and seems a much better implementation that I have seen on other systemsFinal Cut Pro 5: Native HDV
Native editing lets you work in any format, from DV and HDV to IMX, DVCPRO HD and uncompressed SD and HD.
This is great for anyone with a HDV format camera, AND it really lets you edit on any frame. -

April 17, 2005 at 11:34 pmYes, you get the whole Final Cut Studio bundle for $699 if you have a FCP license.
I ordered the upgrade from the Swedish AppleStore and it was $40 cheaper for me to get the Final Cut Studio than do a upgrade from FCPHD and DVDSP3 plus I get Motion for “free”.Mikael

April 18, 2005 at 12:59 amWhat if you own FCP-HD, DVDSP3 and Motion1 individually… does that qualify for the Final Cut Studio upgrade price? Called the Apple store on two occasions this afternoon and neither order taker could give me an answer.

“Can I upgrade my educational version of Final Cut Pro?
No. Educational and Not-for-resale (NFR) versions do not qualify for upgrades.”Your right about not being able to upgrade if you only purchased Final Cut Pro. However, I just called Apple and was told that if you had purchased a Production Suite (academic) then you are eligible to get an upgrade (academic) to Final Cut Studio for $499.
Oddly, I couldn’t find this on the website but that’s what the Apple rep said over the phone.

” What if you own FCP-HD, DVDSP3 and Motion1 individually… does that qualify for the Final Cut Studio upgrade price?”
Sorry to disappoint you. When I called the Apple Rep told me that the upgrade for $499 applies only if you purchased the Production Suite meaning that if you purchased them separately then you will have to do the $699 upgrade. Yeah bummer, I know.
God bless,
