Virus protection is a major CPU killer and not recommended on an NLE, you should simply disable the LAN port via the Network icon (right click) and basically stay off the web with that machine, I keep my NLE machines on their own subnet so they can transfer files between them but when I need a software update or anything else from the web, I download it on a protected machine and FTP it off to my NLE.

OK SUCCESS! – New workaround and not what I expected for a new version, but I guess that if I were to integrate this into Audition, the workflow would likely be a little easier.
So with that said, I basically broke out my audio (something I typically do anyway) into 2 mono mixes of Shotgun and Wireless and also broke out the back of church cams audio, which in this case was onboard stereo, dropped them onto the multi-cam sequence, locked them and started editing.
The only drawback is that during multicam, audio tracks 2,3 and 4 do not come up in the multi-cam session window, so my wireless groom mic is the only one that I can use to monitor with. There is a 5 minute chunnk at the start of the sequence that is that of the soloist which is covered by the stereo back of church mic and since I was in the back with the groom, I am hearing his conversation watching her sing, not very true to what I’m trying to do, BUT none the less, it’s a start.
Maybe if enough people give Adobe engineering some feedback, they will do something in the next version.

Intel 955ee with a 160gig SATA system drive and 400gigs of RAID-0 which is where all the Premier video and audio is parked. It’s a Dell Precision 380 Workstation, the most current model, literally just about 2 weeks old and got it specifically for editing. So I’m a bit concerned that PPro 2.0 is bottlenecking at all, you would think that with all the processing power available today with these machines, Adobe would configure their software to take advantage of this. I guess that I expected a more “real-time” result with this much power.

You pretty much summed it up, in the 1.5 workflow, I would do all the video cuts then go back in and play with the audio levels in the individual tracks to get things right. Now that I stepped away from the project for the day and read your message, I have a clearer picture of what to do. I’ll just take the video and cut to my hearts content, then come back in to the sequence with the audio files from the original sources quick sync them and do what I need to do and eventually de-link the audio from the multi-cam sequence and what will be left will be the audio that I “tweaked”. Sounds solid to me now, I’ll see tonight when I get home from work and get to play…

There are no drivers for the Storm or Raptor cards. An email I got from Canopus with my discontent came back as you should try Edius and they may get around to writing drivers if they feel like it. Their support is horrid, their attitude is just as bad and they are basically pushing thier rather lackluster clone of a bad editing solution onto the world missing the market they niched out and abandoning them.
PPro 2.0 runs super nice on my machine wihtout my Canopus card in the picture, I do still have 1.5 installed which see’s the card as I’m not totally cut-over to 2.0 due to some restrictions that I keep finding in the new implementation of their new tools.
Keep checking the Canopus site weekly, maybe one day there will be a shock! Also BTW, the Matrox Rt100 solution announced support for 2.0 the day 2.0 hit the streets, something that the Canopus sales rep denied in his email to me until I copied the web link and sent him a reply message.
