That sounds like a useful feature request to file. Do it here: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911311-after-effects

You could do expressions that do that sort of thing, yes. You’d probably want to use the layer’s index and some math so that you can use the same expression on all of the layers though.

That said, if there aren’t that many points, animating it manually might be faster than trying to get an expression down! 😉

  • There were some weird little bugs that got fixed. I haven’t had time to be as involved in the forums recently as I would like (my actual work has been getting in the way), but I seem to recall similar issues being addressed.

  • That example is not that complicated. It just uses a 3d renderer of some kind. You could do it with Element with some tweaking, perhaps.

The complex part is the model itself. That would have to be made in a dedicated 3d program (or purchased from someone who did).

  • Do you have a GPU in that system? Some of AE’s native effects are now GPU-accelerated and some third-party effects (Element, Red Giant Universe, etc.) run exclusively on the GPU.

  • Update AE. You are not sporting the latest bug fix update.

How are you creating the walk cycle in the first place?

  • Do you want all of the text to scale up at once or do you want it to come up one character at a time?

I meant, clearing ALL the caches. I know you did at least the basic one.
