Read the manual on such things as masks. You will find it an invaluable resourse.

Do a forum search for organic growth or something similar. This has been discussed a few times.

Sometimes something as simple as a radial wipe will work.

Try the search posts option, note the little link over there on your left.
Don’t forget to include the archives.
There have been several posts about Sky Captain, and about the 3 strip process.
Try two searches once with each term, for double the fun!

You might, um, find some demo reels in the, uh, demo reel forum. It’s right here on the COW so you don’t have to go far.

It’s in the next pasture, right over there: https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_view_posts.cgi?forumid=173, see?

Nope; The Emperor’s New Groove. Izma’s monologing about how to kill Cuzco.

“First I’ll turn him into a flea, a harmless little flea. And then I’ll put that flea in a box, and I’ll put that box into another box, and then I’ll mail that box to myself. And when it comes, ah ha haaaa, I’ll smash it with a hammer!”
    poof bang

“It’s brilliant I tell you, genius I say!”

*knocks a bottle of potion onto a flower which promptly, and I mean promptly, dies.

    *looks at flower

“Or I could just poison him with THIS.”

    *holds up bottle of potion

    Great film.

Jim’s right; the ability to use a gradient map to affect different effects is brilliant. You can use a gradient on foam, shatter, and many others.

I use gradient on card dance (and card wipe) all the time.

Or in your glow settings set it to base the glow on Alpha. Unless you mean something entirely different.

If you have your camera parented to a 3d null your job will be a lot easier.
Create a null, make it 3d. Create a camera, parent it to the null. Easy as pie.

The all you have to do is animate the null to the exact position of the photo you want to highlight and your camera will aready be pointing directly at it from a decent distance. (Animate the rotation of the null and the camera’s z position to add spice.)

October 22, 2005 at 2:55 am in reply to: text effect, anymore more help??

You could duplicate something similar to this by having your text layer work as a track matte on a precomp with your colours in it. These colours could very easily be made with a black to white gradient and Colorama, animated.

Check out track mattes, very cool.
