    Hi Peter

the VFX shots I’m getting are indeed with conflicting TC. I understand that there will be conflicts on this project I have to accept that – what I want to do is turn off the new functionality and revert to the conflict and resolution method of v7.

The problem I have now is Resolve guesses wrong with Force Conform Enabled checked in the clip – i uncheck it, the reconform as per v7 (for all my vfx clips) then the next day I bring another vfx shot into the pool and it force conforms onto all the vfx in the timeline as the force conform check box has reticked itself.

I’d love to be able to turn this feature off globally and for it to stay off as it is costing me hours. I’m loving the reconform from media pool feature though

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Marcin

You seem to be describing an old tape layoff workflow (without the tapes) – We managed to get a little further than that in v7. We had an EDL and consolitated mxf’s from Avid that Resolve could understand and open a timeline – Of course on v7 there was no way of getting back to Avid with anything other than a flattened target render. We’re just hoping for the final part of the jigsaw to drop into place and be able to ‘send’ a graded source render edit sequence with handles to Avid like we can now with FCP7.

  • Hi

If you add a mark in the dynamics on a tracked window (not a dissolve) then add another mark later in the clip and change the position/size (maybe shape – i’ve only tried on circle so far) THEN change the 1st mark to a dissolve it doesn’t reset the tracking like adding a dissolve from the outset does.

More testing later as I’m in a grade and the clients getting coffee – just thoughtI’d share

  • just want to add my voice here – the tracker is reset with adding keyframes in the dynamic…

I used this function A LOT in v7 and it’s really hurting not having it – the marking in the tracker just doesn’t match up and is generally slower to use than keyframing in the dynamic

Is that new or did I just never do that for the last year?

A good question thibault- I sometimes feel like the only person here not testing v8 beta

    anyone know this for definitive?

I always presumed the normally scaled video check box was the same as broadcast safe check box in Color

I had no luck with aaf’s but ending up using eels from avid instead which worked fine linking to mxf’s (you also need the mxf plugin of course). I hear that avid workflow is sorted in v8

I don’t think they are there: Red cross means no clip – possibly you have show offline through gaps selected so you can ‘see’ the clips in the offline (having offlines with embedded TC is useful for this and many other reasons in a conform). If you can’t find a way around the conform settings to get them in with an EDL then manually adding the only way to go (this month)
