  • Issues with dynamics and power windows in Version 8?

Posted by Christopher Adams on July 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm

This might just be me. I will toss this out incase it is a simple “your doing it wrong” situation.
I have a curve shape power window. I set the initial shape. i have auto key framing on. Then i move to a place down the timeline. I then move one of the points. and it interpolates. But the shape goes wacky and jumps around I have no finite control. It just jumps to some odd configuration.
    Any ideas?
Does this happen only when you are adding changes to the shape itself after doing a track in the viewer?

I basically want to track a freeform shape then clean it up? What am i missing?

I’ve got similiar problem. Normally in version 7, I tracked window, and then if was nessesary I set few keyframes with F1 on my Wave panel to adjust it’s shape or position. It worked fine, till the version 8, where after seting keyframe window changes it’s positon and doesn’t interpolate .

same here no interpolation. also can you confirm in auto keyframe mode that the 2nd adjustment makes the window unstuck and makes it get all whacked out of position?

Yes, I confirm, it’s impossible to adjust tracked window in auto keyframe mode too. I’ve uninstaled Resolve, downgraded to v7, worked fine, upgraded once agaian to v8, and got the same problem.

Ok Glad it isn’t just me and that I am doing it wrong! This is a nasty bug. Though it seems isolated to key-framing in the color tab. Key-framing of position in the viewer in keyframe mode seems to be fine.
I have no issues doing a partial track then a manual keyframe with “between”

Just makes it hard to adjust points on a curve in the color window. Id love it if once you are in keyframe mode in the viewer all options would just keyframe! not just tracking movement.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We will look into this issue.

just want to add my voice here – the tracker is reset with adding keyframes in the dynamic…

I used this function A LOT in v7 and it’s really hurting not having it – the marking in the tracker just doesn’t match up and is generally slower to use than keyframing in the dynamic

    Hi

If you add a mark in the dynamics on a tracked window (not a dissolve) then add another mark later in the clip and change the position/size (maybe shape – i’ve only tried on circle so far) THEN change the 1st mark to a dissolve it doesn’t reset the tracking like adding a dissolve from the outset does.

More testing later as I’m in a grade and the clients getting coffee – just thoughtI’d share

A fix for this will come with the next update. Glad you found a workaround 🙂

Hi there, has this been fixed in 8.0.1?
