never mind – corruption is from fcp sequence (fcp won’t open it’s own xml) Amazing Da Vinci opened it. Unfortunately it produces the similarly broken xml for the graded clips and fcp won’t open it.

I did my fair share of projects on Color as well but honestly, going back there was not a pleasant couple of days.

But why ‘of course’. Does Adobe cs6 overwrite cs5.5 – no. And the same can be said of almost all software.
I expect v8.2 to overwrite v8.1 but this is a totally new piece of software -

I would never install a .x version update mid project. What I am asking is does v9 sit alongside v8 or overwrite it.

I did a job with Apple Color last week (clients mac pro 1,1) and made me want to cry… I can’t believe I used put myself through that on a daily basis. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay there for a minute longer than they need to.
Oh, and thanks BMD – sometimes it’s easy to forget how far Resolve has come in a few years – I can’t wait for v9.

That would be very sad as it’s one of the features I’m most excited about. It will be rendered a bit useless if that is the case.

the wave only has an ‘alt’ button. Perhaps the wave isn’t mapped to do this

You could also try pulling the key in an ‘alpha node’.
In the key node (3) add loads of saturation and Radius blur and actual Blur.
In the output node (2) check the invert box in the post mixing part of the key page.
It just takes the strong key, not the blur or the saturation.
I agree with comments about the NR – I’ve only ever used it on RED footage successfully. Anything else I use Neat in FCP.

I can’t get the ALT-dot thing to work on my tangent – just resets RGB.
I reset luma by clicking the lum lift/gamma/gain knobs should I want to do this -
