The loop cannot get further and further out of alignment, it is a content, it has to be the same duration on the audio and video, they are locked together.

If you want a intro that does not repeat but you want the highlights to be active during this intro you build 2 menus, the first has the intro and the rest of the menu, this end jumps to the 2nd menu that doesn’t have the intro and you set this to loop.

  • I would ALWAYS keep each card separately. This is most on other types of media and I think you should do it for Canon also. If you have to get curtain files it is easier if there is a little bit of origination to them. Also with L&T FCP will use the your folder as the Reel Name, which is handy if you need to go back to them.

Now I don’t know if all the files can be ganged together, but even if they could I wouldn’t do it.

Not well. If you must do it you need to use Compressor with Frame Control turn to best or other apps like Magic Bullet Frames. To get quality there is no quick way to do it.

To judge your image in FCP you should be using an external monitor, if you do not have one you at least have to set your canvas or view to 100%, even if the image does not fit that is the only way you can see the real image.

As far as capturing it, unless you have a DV deck with Analog or Digital outs and a video card to capture to there is no other setting. IF you are using FW you have to use DV preset.

I think it is price very aggressively. The next thing to this is the Newly announced Sony which has a Super35 chip but it jumps 3 or 4 times the price. I think I would settle for the 4/3″ and have all that extra money to buy other stuff, like lenses.

[Arthur Lunn] “I’ve read that it is strongly advised that one avoid a simple viewfinder that simply magnifies the pixels.”
Don’t know where you have read that, a viewfinder is normally on the top of most must have list.

The are some cheaper models that will not let you focus but if you have 20/20 that is not an issue, if you want or need focusing you simple get a model with that ability (with a diopter or spacers).

The other thing for starting focus you have the focus assist with enlarges the image on the lcd 5x or 10x, not available once you are recording but I use it all the time, with that and the viewfinder you can get critical focus fairly easily.

  • Did you copy all the .THM files along with the .mov files? L&T needs them to work. If you have not you need to get them, if they cannot be gotten you have to use Compressor or something like StreamClip to convert them.

Your post is a little confusing.

IF you have made a menu in which you have set a Loop Point, then by design the highlights on the buttons will not be active until you pass that point. Then at the end of your menu video it loops back to this point.

So :35 no menu buttons available > after this point menu buttons active > menu loops and buttons are active from now on.

If that is not your case please post back.
