The Kona2 is the card that you have that can do upconverting to HD. So you would go out a LHe SDI out of the source to SDI in sd and then set the frame buffer in aja’s control panel to the HD format that you want.

AJA normally post Press Releases on this board. It is a good place to keep eye on.

Nothing new coming from apple will have Tiger on it, it will all be Leopard. Some 3rd party venders (even big ones like ProMax or BH Photo) may still have units with Tiger installed. If you get one like that you would just need to pay the $9.99 to get the Leopard disc. Just call around, in Nashville I know macauthority still had some Tiger boxes left the other day.

“I see,” said the blind man as he picked up the hammer and saw.

Thanks Walter, it’s Monday morning brain is not working yet.

Hit that button and nothing happens, well at least for the couple of seconds that I was willing to wait.

Pretty cool, I just wish the end to mosaic it would look like the person looking at the screen. It would scare the crap out of any PC user that wanted to see this Apple thing.

[PaulJBis] “Would you say that the quality difference is negligible? “

That is going to depend on your editing codec, if you are using HDV or DV I think “Sending to compressor” is a must. But it does tie up your system and it ties it up for a longer period of time. I also almost always use CBR vs. VBR and this give me back some of the time and I feel like I get a better encode most of the time.

I use “send to compressor” more then not, but my workflow and schedule allows for it. Everyone you should be testing these things out since it boils down to a judgement call.

Is the quality worth the extra time? Nobody can answer that but you. But the explanation above is correct.

[Steve Connor] “It’s in the photo screensavers, choose an album and then select mosaic in the display style “

Still not seeing it, I have 2 groupings in Screen Saver
    Apple and Pictures

I don’t see “Display Style” in either.

I don’t have Mosaic either! Cheated again :-).

I use Word of the Day, that way I can at least learn something as blindly stare at the screen.
