Once again this is a feature that can be used but it is not recommended. Search this forum “layered menu” and you will find a lot of stuff.

Google is your friend. 3D animation is a very specialized skill set, probably would be better to ask this in a 3D software forum.
Combustion is made for the Mac but that is not really a 3D animation app. Maya is probably the high end of what is available for the Mac.

Well, exporting a QT movie and then using Compressor is the FASTEST way, not necessary the BEST.
When you export from the FCP timeline you get the best quality encode, especially in you are using a high compressed codec and have graphics and effects. And as stated above you don’t have to render the timeline and if you also use CBR method of encoding it can be as fast.
But the question was how do I get this option back. Compressor is probably one of the easiest app to get scrambled during upgrades. If the normal trash prefs do not fix things you need to do a re-install of compressor, and it needs to be done by the book. Below is a ling that gives you the procedure.

The problem with any label is they mess with the balance of the disc, it wouldn’t matter what they were made of. It is asking for trouble to use any, use a pen if you don’t want to buy a printer.

You would have to use the Layered Menu option, not recommended. DO a search or look in the manual on how to do thing.

Black Magic designs has some less expensive cards that give you SD video out. There is no free ride here so you will have to spend at least several hundred bucks.

As an DVD author it is our job to give the client something that can be replicated or duplicated and there needs should be clear from the beginning. (Are you charge on a per disc basis or for a master) I normally would not give project files to a client, but if asked I would decide on a case by case basis, if I want to work with them again, then I would do more to help, then if they are a pain and just trying to get things for free.
At the end of the project if they do start asking for elements or movie files I just charge my normal hourly rate. It takes time to export and gather stuff up. This hourly rate needs to be consistant with your project fees. So if you worked on a DVD for 2 weeks and charge $2K you cannot charge $150/hr to gather files to a data DVD or HD.

You get, a bigger chip which gives you a faster camera (more light sensitive) and detail. It holds 4 cards over 2 so there is less need for swapping. The lens is more powerful and you can rent even bigger if you need them. You can put more professional controls for the lens on the 500 (to use on a jib or steadicam) You can shade the camera with a CCU.
Do these things matter to you, if they do, it is worth it. The question is can the camera make $15K for you quickly, day rate for a 200 is about $350 a day vs a 500 at about $600 a day. Will it get you more work?
Only you can answer those questions.
All DVCProHD is 920×720 or 1280×1080, unless you go up to the really highend this is true. You can get the specs from the Panasonic website.

If the footage is processed and color corrected well you should be good results but the higher end encoders will do better. I have not read much about Episode m2v encoding and no comment there.

Compressor will never do as well as high end encoder and especially when the high end encoders are being run by high end compressionist. Plus you have to be starting with the same quality footage as hollywood.
But you can get good results with Compressor, this question is asked all the time do a search for tips and if you guys want to spend a little be of money look at 3rd party encoders.
