Was the default in BLUE?
If you are going to Firestore you cannot use pN mode, that mode does not go through the firewire port. Use have to use normal P and then VFR setting on the Firestore which removes the redundant frames.

TC stays with the clips also, so it does not need to be burned in transcoded clips, if you drop a TCR filter on the clip in a seq it will display the clips TC which is helpful on dailies and audio conforming.
Kona TC window doing to tape gives you the Seq TC, NOTE: if I’m adding pulldown going to tape the Kona TC window seems to whack out on me (23.98 seq to 29.97 tape)

If the final was graded in HD I would use the HDCAM master, if you are not using a hardware encoder you can capture the video as downconverted SD 10 bit uncompressed or 10 bit Pro Res this will keep more color information. DV/DVCAM is 4:1:1 color space so a lot of color info is lost doing down to that codec.
I would stay away from the DVCAM master.

Unless you purchase a program like DVDAfterEdit you will have to re-author the DVD. You can rip all the elements but you must start from scratch on the menu overlays and authoring.
DVDAfterEdit would allow you to drop the corrected video back into the project and rebuild the Video TS folder. The program is not cheap though. $395 and it is not the easiest program to learn.

are you wanting to make a HD DVD (can only be played back on a fast Mac or HDDVD player) or a regular SD DVD? If SD DVD for normally playback on DVD players you have to use SD encodes.

These get pricey went you start upping the processor speeds, like to see FCP rendering speeds.
Please don’t tell my Quad G5 or first gen 8-Core that they are obsolete, they don’t know that yet so they keep on working, heck in fact my G4 867 is still willing to make DLTs for me.

Somewhere along the way you made this a HD DVD project, there is no going back you have to reauthor the project as SD DVD.
This settings is in the preferences or the General tab for the Disc in the Inspector.

You would have to change the video out if your sequence settings change. Your video out should match your sequence.
You would only need to change the Kona Control panel’s output if you change monitors or deck requirements.

Start with some of the H.264 presets in Compressor, you will be able to a very watchable movie under the 100 MB size.
