    WARNING

Before you start any download of any of the Adobe CC project, when the first dialog box pops up after you hit install. Make sure you hit the advanced link and uncheck the Remove Old versions which is on by default.

Not sure how the trail install differs from the normal signed in account but my guess Adobe might still have it deleting the old apps.

    Better safe than sorry.

  • DId the tape already have data on it. While Bru will write to tapes in non-sequential order, it will not go to a new tape until it has to because the first tape it is writing to is full.

Also if I back one session Bru will keep using the same tape until it is full before moving to another tape. So I have learned to live with it. When I need to restore I make sure the needed tapes are in the library by confirming/checking the archive list that gives you all the tapes used in that archive.

  • Not sure I completely understand your questions.

Bru does back up files sequentially. But the file path is also part of the name. So it would back up in order on each drive. Not all the A’s from all the different drives. Which I don’t even think you can set an Backup job to pull from different locations.

Now one thing that Bru does that drives me crazy is they don’t use the tapes in the library in sequential order. So if a Library Destination has tapes 21-30, It might start with tape 28, then go to tape 30. This really doesn’t cause any issues but I wish I know a way to force it to go in order just for my sanity. In the end as long as it restores it doesn’t matter if it is pulling from 1 and 2 or 1 and 6.

January 26, 2018 at 7:05 pm in reply to: 708 Closed Captions from MCC files FIXED!!!

We have never had an issue with 608 on import or export. Our exports with embedded is MXF XDCAM HD.

One important check program we use all the time is MediaInfo, it is free on the PC and $1 on Mac. This is tell you what the file has.

One time I have noticed is if you create a seq from clip before the creating CC on import you may not get both 708 and 608.

    MediaInfo report attached

Check your Project Settings and see what the Rending and Playback is set to. It probably should be set to Open GL. But whatever it is I would give the opposite a try.

Also try clearing the cache in Program Prefs.

  • You can go really cheap and go from the headphone out to a small mixer and than to the speakers. This might be best for keeping audio and video in sync.

I have this on a system and set the Mac alerts to the internal speakers.

  • There is a wrench in the top right of the timeline panel. Click it and Choose Audio Names.

December 11, 2017 at 7:42 pm in reply to: need a new professional monitor ( curved vs flat )

I think you guys are talking past each other.

    Manish,

When you are talking about a monitor for color (Color Correction) people start giving you advise on a broadcast monitor, which is normally the 3rd monitors and requires another piece of hardware that feeds only the video out to it. It is never used as a desktop in any other app, only video from Premiere, AE or similar app.

If you are simply asking are these good monitors for the editing app they would work for everything other than critical color correction.

Nothing but Encore will bring in chapter markers from the xmp.

I don’t think DVDSP will work in the newest OS. I stopped upgrading a long time ago, stayed with Yosemite and it works fine but will not bring in markers.

I have manually moved marks from Premiere to DVDSP by copying the TC from the sequence to a text doc. And then you can import the text file into DVDSP.

Set the speed to 42% and see if you like the results. That is close to the rate for 1:1 playback. Wish there was a cinematools type program in Adobe.
