Are you formatting the DVDs UDF or Mac and PC, for video DVDs the answer is always UDF
You have to give detailed steps and settings if you want real help.

NO you have not solved the problem. The problem is how software in windows operator and the speed of the systems. Progressive footage is NOT de-interlaced, there is no interlacing to “DE” it is progressive, so if you turn off the deinterlace of the software it is not playing back interlaced, it is playing the progressive as progressive, the deinterlace should be ignored by the software. I don’t really know what the software is doing but with windows you never know what you are up against, the software, the hardware are so unpredictable. But to make footage interlaced to solve this problem is going in the wrong way. If your view is going to be most on PCs then you really need to be producing progressive.
And the solution is just telling people what the optimal settings are, if you can even know them for all the software that is out there.

DV50 will also hold up better for the reencoding.

Don’t play this off a DVD if you are setting up a turn-key display, use an H264 HD movie, played from a computer or media player. Quality would be so much better.

Why are you setting it to NONE if you have interlaced footage? You need to keep the field order the same throughout the process. The codec has nothing to do with this.

That is a waste of time you are not doing anything that needs Frames ON. You have progressive material at 24p, just encode it as such.[Erik Pagan] “I’m assuming, HD cables (blue, green and red) it looks great with none of the artifacts or issues.” They are NOT HD cables, they are analog component cables, that can send either SD or HD and in your case it is SD. But they will indeed look better, they are sending a lot more color information. Makes a huge difference.
Best quality with HDV footage is to send the HDV sequence to Compressor from within FCP. This takes a lot longer to encode and it will tie up FCP and Compressor for the entire time but it should look a lot better. If your movie is under 90 minutes I would use a CBR encode.

Nope, overlays cannot share the same area and the window is always a single box.

If this is happening especially in faster moving sections you have a field order issue.
I believe DV PAL is lower first and the ProRes maybe Upper, but this problem could have been introduced on the encoding also.
That is the first thing I would look for.

you can set the language of each stream the type should be automatically read and displayed. This is a function of the DVD player.

First nothing on the mirror will ever show up on your pictures or video, the mirror is out of the way when taking any image.
Is this issue happening on more than one lens?
If there is a sensor problem you need to have canon look at it. Sensors should be be cleaned by professionals, there are kits out there is you are professional. The other thing maybe a few bad pixels.
Is auto sensor cleaning enabled? if not enable it and do a couple of manual cleaning. If that does help post a sample picture of the problem.
There is also the Dust Delete function under menus you should also try that.
