8.5 offers waveform syncing for multicamera grouping only, not so much for double system sound. I did write a blog offering a workaround on how to use it for syncing video + audio:

I confirmed the same thing in the release version of MC 8.5 that I saw during beta. If I AutoSequence clips I end up with V9 and A10, A11.

I think you’ll have to do the import/export/merge process in order for Media Composer to give you the exact Start, End, and duration for each of the cues. Should be fairly quick to do with some column copy/pasting in Excel.

Assuming the GoPro source clips are tagged as such, you could always do a V tracks only decompose of the sequence with 0 handles, then sort by column to identify GoPro clips. Select GoPro clips and get bin info, reverse selection and get get bin info and do a percentage of the two.
It is an interesting request and may be something I add to the reporting tool application I am developing.

Is the info embedded in the music cues by chance? If so, I developed an AMA plug-in that brings in all that metadata and will generate cue sheets from an AAF for an affordable $25!
If not, you can try exporting a TAB from from the bin after an import that includes START and END timecodes as well as TAPE and SOURCE FILE – and do the column copy process in Excel to make a new ALE file that you can merge back into your existing clips.

Just trying to be clear on the process:
1. You had a multiple track WAV file from your recorder of which you synced only a subset of those? For example, it was a 4 track file but you synced tracks 1+2 only?
2. You now have a .sync subclip that is VA1A2 and you already started edited sequences.
3. You now want to change the original .sync subclips to VA1A2A3A4?If yes – you need to remake the .sync clips. Sequences will not update automatically with additional tracks, you need to do a replace edit on those events.
When you say AAF, what are you referring to exactly?

Editing with AMA linking is dependent on the codec. If the codec is considered native, then the experience will be much better. Which one’s are native? The list of “native” codecs are listed in the transcode window. H.264 is the one that does not count as the Avid streaming codec seems to be unique to Avid’s creations of that codec and not possible in other third party applications (that I have yet to find).

The REEL column in Resolve is using the embedded 8 character version of the file name and Media Composer is most likely using the full file name so there is no match. In Resolve settings look for conform assist and check use clip’s filename as seen here:
