You will not see any field differences in the Source/Record monitor MC GUI as those only show 1 field at a time. You will need to be playing it back over I/O hardware to a client monitor.
Have you tried AMA instead of an import?

Wen you imported, what DNxHD data rate did you choose> I would try an AMA link (QuickTime AMA plug-in) to see if you get any difference in performance. I will say that FW800 @7200RPM is cutting it close and as the drive fills up, the outer portions of the disk are slower.

There is no subframe audio editing in Media Composer in the sequence. As you mention, it can only be done on subclips that start V and A. AMA linked audio or AMA lined Video with audio (as in your original Canon 5D) will also throw up an exception.

Title tool does not have any means of exporting title text, position, font, etc in an form that can be parsed. It is contained in the AFE format but as far I know, Avid DS is still the only NLE that can read the titles.
It would have been better to use the the SubCap effect which exports in two different formats that are used for interchange. Perhaps others here might have heard of another app that can read titles created in Title Tool.

There are lots of reasons why people create dailies in third party applications. Some of which are:
1. Becomes someone else’s responsibility
2. Editors are paid to edit, not transcode
3. Assistants are busy with organization, and if the DIT/Data Wrangler can do it, them one less thing to do.
4. AMA or import does not allow for specialized needs such as burn’ins, etc.
5. Some require color corrected dailies and syncing beforehand
6. etc.The MXF wrapper only carries the basic metadata. All additional metadata is in the ALE file when available. This is added via a merge process.

Resolve also exports an ALE but you have to do it manually from the selects reel that was created during the dailies/sync process. The ALE gets merged into the bin’s master clips in order to have all the metadata needed. With Alexa, it will also generate an ALE that can be merged into the masterclips. I’ve been happily working with OS X 10.8.5 with MC 7.0.3 and latest updates to Adobe CC. I have no real rush to move to Mavericks.

UNC (Universal Naming Convention) is the path name for drive/folder/file. So now, between the TAPE and the UNC column you now know the relationship of the files. Making an EDL might be the fastest way to go as you suggest, but you have the wrong file name in TAPE for that to happen. I would suggest you add Camroll to the bin with UNC and copy just the file name as in AXXX_CXXX_XXXX without the .mxf. Then you can generate an EDL with camroll as source.
