BlackMagic Cinema Camera to DNXHD Slow Playback
Trying to figure out a post workflow for the Black Magic Camera. I’ve imported a few clips (24p/1080) in DNXHD from a 7200RPM external through a 800 firewire. Editing on a mac mini, 8gig ram, i7.
I’m getting slow playback on avid and am wondering if my computer is either not fast enough orr I should’ve done an AMA link instead? If I were to color correct it since it was shot in film mode and do not have a fast enough processor for DaVinci Resolve would avid work for color correcting or should I try After Effects/Color. Trying to get this out as quick as possible.

Wen you imported, what DNxHD data rate did you choose> I would try an AMA link (QuickTime AMA plug-in) to see if you get any difference in performance. I will say that FW800 @7200RPM is cutting it close and as the drive fills up, the outer portions of the disk are slower.
