Well not having seen your footage my suggestion is going to be limited. Watch Andrew Kramers tutorial on advanced sky replacement. The tutorial shows you how to replace a sky but I’ve had success with replacing other sorts of backgrounds using this method. In my opinion rotoscoping is a last resort. The amount of time it takes to go frame by frame to get rid of the background experimenting with different technics is worth the effort

I’m not planning to capture too much and I agree I shouldn’t be complaining about dv. I was just curious if there was any other possibilities such as Shane suggested.

Some day in the not so distant future we will have hundred’s of terabytes in our computers and laughing that un-compressed video brought about storage problems.

Thanks to everyone who responded. My budget for now is around from the 200’s to the 500’s. I’d rather stay away from the thousands for atleast a little bit. Anyway my usually my shooting is done outdoors. I think I will go with the suggestion that some of you brought up that I should rent a higher quality mic for the shoot and just not go into the cheaper end of the spectrum.

If I decide to start out renting and later buy a mic I’ll probably be more willing to spend close to a thousand if I truly fall in love with a mic.

Thanks a lot. Thats exactly what happened and creating a new audio track fixed gaps. I just realized that I had recorded a voice over that was mono and I had an empty track in between the other audio tracks which caused my problem.

Any ways your solution helped and now everything is falling into order. Thank you very much.
