    thanks for the heads up!

    Lets see what NAB brings…

realsitically a great 4k i/o card/bob would have some long term legs so I am hopeing Avid have one. TB2 as a interface would be good (HP840 compatible)

If BM need to leverage panel sales to keep Resolve financially viable then they should consider a 1/2 price 1/2 size Davinci branded panel… I dislike the Avid panel we have but do not have the full time desk space for the full size panel. I have asked around amongst my peers and all have cash but little desire for a very large full time 24/7 colourist panel.. they don’t have to go cheap as long as it unlocks Davinci with great mapping and feels good.

Filmlight’s Slate is a good size guide… Could be a fair bit longer for a 4th ball but depth is the issue…

also how about a Davinci Gradeing monitor? the 30inch 4k panels are looking ok (tvlogic?) but we need somebody who can really sell stuff to get the price to Old BVM levels..

  • Hi Walter

I’ve looked at FT a couple of times and couldn’t see how you could do nice glows as its blur tool was a nasty box-type GL thing…(same goes for decent defoucus effects) I hope I’m wrong as I am seriously considering dumping our Avids and going for FCP/FT on kona etc….

    Would love to be mistaken???

  • 5. We cannot recapture the variable speed footage and have it conform. YOU CAN RECAPTUE THE ORIGINAL MASTER CLIP THAT WAS FIRST CAPTURED.

Despite this being claimed by Avid I found this NOT to be the case.. If anyone (Michael?) has any tips on how to achieve recapture of original material I would love know..

    regards

    Hi Paul

Was there a buzz about the camera from sony??

Since I shoot mainly in europe I’ll probably not be able to get access to the camera for some time …

Any more info would still be interesting….

    thanks
