Amen, pretty surprising something as basic as that has not been attended to.

Thanks very much Andy, it was indeed no longer there…deleted not rejected but I appreciate the information you’ve given me for future projects.

Solution was to create a new “event” then drag the problematic file to the previous “event” I was working with. Of course I could have also left it in the new “event” but I chose not to.

Thanks for the suggestion that works. If I highlight the designated drive and then close
FCP X it imports to the drive highlighted.http://www.michaelkienitz.com

I’ve wandered over there and already benefited from it but I seriously enjoy the passionate discussions here. I was a war photographer for 10 years so that prepared me for just about anything that life tosses my way. Aside from the FCP fiasco some developers are trying to develop land over our local wellhead without proper soil remediation from previous unsavory environmental practices and my dear neurosurgeon wife has been working 24/7 for days. Relief is in sight however because Tuesday I’ll be in Chicago for the Cubs Giants game. I won’t go into what my Norwegian forest cats have done except to say I wish they would do it on Randy Ubillos’s desk.
BTW the two forums are the perfect compliment for schizophrenia.

The new compressor worked fine for me even with an old droplet. It was an automated
Pro Res Conversion. Much faster on 12 core now… -
I’ve got a 3.0 Dual quad 16 gigs ram running latest Mac OS, have used disk warrior (I sold Apple computers for 10 Years) repaired permission etc. my card is a 4870 also used XL1900 prior to this. I’ve got 4 1.5 terabyte drives internally no external drives connected…I am dropping frames at the end of every edit even in Standard def. I have 7200 rpm drives with separate one dedicated just for scratch…I have 2 30in cinema displays but only have one plugged in in case that was the issue
I’ve taken the machine to local Apple Store 3 times (Madison, WI) they can’t find anything wrong with machine.
My 2.6mgz laptop runs the same files without dropped frames…I have Apple Care on the machine and
need to finish project, this used to only happen with HD H.264 files now it’s happening in SD as well…
The only thing the Apple Store has done is swapped out video card twice with no change in dropped frame issue…I told them I thought it was core problem but their tests say no problem…anyone out there got and ideas…this is very depressing for more reasons than I can go into…Apple Hardware tests which I’ve run comes up with no errors on ram or anything else…drives are Seagate 1.5 terabyte, I’ve tried different drives as well but problem persists…
