Oh my goodness. This is SO sad. Chris and I had several emails back and forth over the years. He’d contribute to the lafcpug newsletter with a great tip/trick every so often. Very sweet man. Such a tragedy. My best to his family and all that were touched by Chris.

Time to create a New User and see if that doesn’t help. It usually does.

I’m always curious why trashing preferences seems to work.

There is an applecare doc about this. Or similar to what you are experiencing. Installing the ProKit Update 5.0 update might cure it if you have not done that.

July 23, 2009 at 9:50 pm in reply to: At this point I wish Apple would sell off “Pro” appsYou all got to understand that this is a SUITE OF APPS, not just Final Cut Pro so you got teams of folks working on their apps while the others wait until they finish. I’d think the logistics managing all this could easily take 2 years and could easily be somewhat nightmarish.

April 2, 2009 at 8:01 pm in reply to: National Association of Broadcasters decides to skip NABAbout 2 weeks ago I thought pretty much same thing that NAB attendance was gong to be down significantly. I was hearing 30-40%. Then about a week ago for no real reason tickets to SuperMeet starting spiking dramatically. Then I heard form others who were on the fence about going that they had decided to go. Not so much for the toys but for the people. The new toys were just a bonus.
What this means me thinks is what we have been preaching for months now; get out of the house and get your face in front of others. You never know who you are going to meet and if that person might change your life. The networking and social aspects of this show are now in the fore front and the NAB show runners know that and are promoting it as such. The word “community” it seems is being thrown around much more than the phrase “trade show.”
