I’m new to the SSD world and want to buy one Accelsior for my Mac Pro. The big question. Is this drive best served as the OS or as the render drive? I do lots of AE and C4D work and want to get the most out of the performance upgrade, but with only one drive, not sure where to put it. Any advice would be MUCH appreciated.

You sir, are the man! That one was going to drive me nuts for weeks! Thanks many times over. And yes, I have no idea how that got unchecked.

I’ve got a similar need. Sad they haven’t found a less ghetto solution to copying the guides. The solution I’ve got is to duplicate the comp with the proper guides and then paste in all of the layers you need into that comp.

    Thanks,
I’m looking into that now. In the meantime, do you know an alternative to this plugin? There have been too many of these x issues with the machines I use where I am a freelancer.

Does anyone know an alternative to RSMB? This is unacceptable. There is no solution posted for the red x problem and the latest version continues to do it. I might as well be using a trial version.

May 22, 2012 at 2:30 am in reply to: where is the render complete sound located?

This is quite funny! However, way too much nonsense was spent NOT answering this simple question so I figured I’d share this from Adobe:

    Change the render-complete sounds

A chime plays when all items in the render queue have been rendered and exported; a different sound plays if a render operation fails. You can change the render-complete sounds by replacing files named rnd_okay.wav and rnd_fail.wav in the sounds folder. The sounds folder is in the following location:

(Windows) Program FilesAdobeAdobe After Effects CS5Support Files

(Mac OS) Applications/Adobe After Effects CS5/Adobe After Effects CS5/Contents/Resources/Sounds
Control-click the Adobe After Effects CS5 application package and choose Show Contents to open the Adobe After Effects CS5 application package and show the Contents directory.

This has been bothering me for years. I’ve got everything precomposed right now and need to render out 4444 with embedded alpha and RSMB still gives me random xs. The only solution I’ve found is to render it out multiple times and then cut it together properly in FCP. Any idea how to fix?
