Thanks Steve. That saved a lot of us the time to make the obvious comments. However, if you are a pro you can afford it. I did ten years ago with the last MacPro. NVIDIA is a deal breaker for me and I’m sure many Resolve users will be torn.

It looks fantastic and well done Apple for building a grunt glam box. I wonder if it comes with a rack mount kit or will we just saw the handles off? (Just kidding)

Are you inserting a png, tiff or jpeg of the text into the Video track? I’m trying to work out what you are doing. If you are inserting anything into the timeline you have to make sure the audio tracks are not locked other wise the video will move but not the audio during a ripple insert.

I think the limitation on story telling make interactives difficult and less likely to capture the audience. It’s tied in with VR so in my opinion its a tech solution looking for a problem.

I guess you missed the point of my reply to your post Bill. You implied no NLE had hi grade DAW tools inside by comparing NLE sound tools to pocket knives instead of Chef’s knives in dedicated DAWs.

Do you agree that Resolve has a Chefs knife quality grade and sound tools inside? I’m just asking that you look at what is on offer before voicing assumptions as to what other NLEs offer in the DAW area.

Perhaps you should have a play with Resolve and see what a fully fledged DAW inside an NLE, VFX Grade tool looks like. The Fairlight page is about 90% of the stand alone Fairlight DAW which is arguably the best DAW. To have something nearly that good inside a free NLE is astounding.
