New NEAT Video V5 for Resolve

I just use the built in de noiser which is much improved. Is NEAT better anymore?

150% Better.
I am not working for NEAT, nor are they sponsoring me (I just paid 150.-$ for my upgrade), so I can say
it with clear consciousness.
Also I have done extensive testing regarding Noise Reduction and the Bottom Line of those tests:

– if it’s small and not terrible noise, the DVR NR is doing just fine. I still use it in those situations (also because it’s 4-5 times
faster than NEAT in rendering).
– Anything that is more serious, e.g. nightshots with high cranked ISO, it’s NEAT only for me. The difference in quality is beyond words. Way better cleaning, not losing details, and amazing sharpening tool. NEAT is worth every single Penny. And the new Version 5 actually is about 20-25% faster in rendering.

Sascha, I’m confused. In the first message, you said the new Neat Video NR is bad. In this message you say it’s “amazing.” Which is it? Does the new version for Resolve work well or not?

I assume he means the older working version.
Which I concur.
Have not had the chance to upgrade.

Hi Marc,

Sorry, maybe I was not clear.
Let me specify: Yes, NEAT is better than DVR NR – and with better, I mean not a little better,
but A LOT better than DVR NR.
It’s truly a no brainer.

My problem was, that with V5 of NEAT, I had suddenly very poor result.
But I figured out what the problem was: V5 has issues with working in conjunction with MultiCam Clips (unlike V4 which works fine there).
When using V5 on normal clips it actually out-performs V4: Even more clean, preserving sharpness even better & rendering is approx. 15-20% faster than V4.

Hope I was more clear now.
