It was shot on a tripod, but there is in some cases light movements in the scenes in question.

Another alternative, and free but potentially risky to audio quality, is to use software called Audacity.

There is a way to completely eliminate the wind noise by using the software to eliminate the noise you specify throughtout the audio track.

It can eliminate wind, a car driving by, humming in the background, etc.

Only problem is it CAN also affect dialogue in your audio track. It can take away from the quality of it, as well as if overdone, make audio sound digitized. You’d have to play with the settings.

Thanks for the graphic description.

For whatever reason, custom template is greyed out when I select Dolby AC3. It isn’t greyed out when I select video renders, just audio.

Any ideas?

Here’s where I’m at now…

Ram Preview setting was at 200.

GPU Acceleration was on. I turned it off.

I rendered the given project where the crash takes place solo. It rendered fine.

I then went to render all 6 nested projects.

At 51%, I saw the screen flash. The software locked up (didn’t give me the “your software has crashed” window, it just locked up and I had to force close it.

But it is the same nested project where this is happening at roughly the same area.

Even though I can try rendering to Sony MXF, do I still render 60i 50 when this was all recorded at 1080 24p? Or is this the only way to assemble under smart render.

Finally, when you say smart render, applying all of the Sony MXF clips on the timeline does this automatically, or is this something I have to select before rendering?

I have no idea where DVD Architect is. Maybe it didn’t come with the Trial version of Vegas 8 Pro. I see no icon for it as it’s own program, nor do I see it listed on the menu system.

Guess I can’t do it?

Thanks. I found the issue. Yep, it was creating a drop shadow after all, but underneath the given video footage I had, it was so faint it couldn’t be seen. I kicked up the intensity, and viola! A drop shadow I could see!

Wow, still nothing.

I am using the trial version of Pro 8. Could it be something turned off by the trial?

I want to be sure the software does what I want it to do before I buy it. So far, it’s working out, but I’ll be surprised if I can’t do a simple drop shadow.
