Vegas Pro 12, Nested projects, crash.
Hi all.
Have Vegas Pro 12. I have 6 nested projects totaling about 30 minutes.
Shot on Canon 5D Mark III and T3i, 1080 24p.
For the moment, I’m rendering mpeg 2 to look at the footage on a DVD.
It crashed about half way through the render.
I have 4 or more audio channels in some cases, but I’ve muted the ones I don’t need (left them in there just in case for future proofing if I go Blu-ray and surround sound if I get distribution deal, but right now I only need stereo for dvd’s and blu-rays for film festivals)
Audio envelopes on my stereo tracks that aren’t muted.
This will be approximately a 100 minute film when I’m done.
There is some footage that have zooms and/or rotations, but nothing complicated. I have some sound with a telephone effect.
Everything else is straight edits or L edits, dissolves or fades.
System:
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Quad Processor 2.5 GHZ
8 GB RAM
NVidia GForce GTS 250 with 1GB video memoryI’ll probably have 25-30 nested projects to make the film vs. one huge timeline, unless I have no choice but to copy everything over.
I’ve also read somewhere there is what’s called “smart render” where I can render individual projects, drop them in a timeline, and using smart render will ‘merge’ the files together, lossless.
If this ends up being a requirement, how do I do this, and am I restricted on the format I can do this? (i.e. only mpeg 2, not h264 for bluray, etc.)
Thanks in advance.
