  • I think only proxy files will update. Unless there’s a naming issue where multiple files have the same name and adobe can’t figure out which one to use.

Limited space always the case, and never fun. I try to build it into the budget. 2 TB is $140? Or a 64TB is like 6 large? Whatever the case, I always let my clients know up front what it will cost to edit it, and storage is part of the overhead costs.

You’re way ahead of the curb with 360 videos man. It’s beyond me and honestly, I’d isolate the issue and take it up with whoever does the manufacturing. It’s obviously a technical/hardware issue.

It’s probably not showing up on youtube due to compression, maybe the same thing for the autoplayer? Sometimes details can get a little blurred out or covered up when software compresses the playback.

If it shows up in your final platform, after a series of different exports, then I’d try doing another shoot and seeing if you could replicate the problem, again to isolate it and present it to the manufacturer.

  • Hi,

I think most of the help you need is already provided, but instead of guessing and trying to correct for monitor shortcomings, simply get a spidyer. https://spyder.datacolor.com/

I use it all the time and I haven’t had any issues since!

First, you can playback your video in 1/2 1/4 1/8 resolution in the composition window. There should be a little button on the bottom right of the player window.

Second, you can take full advantage of adobe media encoder. Using Adobe native codecs, although front-end intensive will help.

Third, make sure that Adobe Premiere has full access to a solid allocated amount of RAM.

Fourth. Take advantage of proxy-files for large projects.

I’m not going to go into full detail for each because there’s plenty of youtube videos for all 4 of these! ☺ Good luck!

  • Sounds like a file-handling issue. This might seem rudimentary, and might be more time-consuming on the front end. But what I like to do, is contain an entire project within one folder. If I have to use other sources from other projects I copy and create duplicate files. I know it eats time and space, but it works for my setup and needs. My projects aren’t very large, and I rarely pull from past work. If I was doing a TV show I might create a unique file system so that I wasn’t duplicating everything all the time but I’d still have a contained master folder and each project within each episode and maybe separate system for C-log.

    You’re using proxy-files, right?

  • There’s probably a million ways to do this. But my thought is:

each ribbon is just a transparent image.

Take the image and mask it out into the motion you’d like.

    that’s it. ;D

I’m not sure exactly if this might work.

    But trap code particular:

Start with the letter mask, and have the particles burst out evenly and slowly.

Use custom particles, and apply the photos batch.

You’ll have another layer for the finished letter (in this case, U) Fade out of that first as the photos burst from the U and grow larger

Put everything into 3D space and start close to the letter and pan out as the pictures fly.

Make a new composition and reverse it.

Haven’t tried it myself, but. idk. might work.

    Oh ok that makes sense.

I’ll probably end up doing it again, however, here’s a link to what I have created so far:

I just hope you know I don’t take anyone’s help for granted. It’s truly an amazing feat to be able to brain-pick those who know what they’re doing.

I’m not sure how to mask the fractal noise though to get the long streaks. Is this something that I should do by hand? Even if I did, it seems impossible to rotoscope the eveolution of the noise.

I’ve been trying different roughen edges with no luck.

    – out of ideas.
