    You could also consider using an ordinary 2.5 FW800 or USB 3 external drive and put it into a Lacy Tank

    I have a few and would have no issues transporting Data in one.. assuming you have a back up.

    Did you end up finding a solution to this? I have tested it a few times now and i still have the same problem. It only happens when grading HD footage with in SD project. The mismatch occurs when I switch the project back to HD size so I can render out.

    Export it out of final cut as “Current Settings” so it creates a self contained ProRes LT File. Once its exported Drag it into a program called MPEG Streamclip (Google it) which is free and fast, from there you can encode it to H264. I find this method to be faster.

    You can also export the file from FCP as a reference file. to save even more time and space.
