I am running AE 7 on a 17in MacBook Pro with 2gigs of RAM, and it runs okay on small things…but once things start to get involved, it begins to lag and I have issues with exporting too…It seems to get to a point and freeze in the animation, can’t explain why…but that’s my experience thus far

I just went under System Preferences and clicked on the Playback Control tab, and down towards the middle there should be Frame Offset and it was set to 4 frames, after changing it to 0 everything went back into sync…not sure if your issue is the same as what I was having, but it’s a start and something really easy to fix.

I solved it, the playback setting was set to 4 frame offset for some reason…set it to 0 and everything plays back fine now.
