Hello everyone, first post, most likely not my last, any who…
So I started capturing footage from a BetaSP to my mac book pro. I am going S-Video out of a UVW-1800 to the input of my DSR-40. The audio out from the UVW-1800 is going into a Mackie 1202 and out to the DSR-40, the audio is hot on the tape. I then have the firewire cable out of the DSR-40 to my Lacie drive which is hooked up to my mac book pro, via FW800. I also have deck control via my Keyspan Serial to USB.
Everything is working beautifully, I have deck control, I captured some test footage and set the offest in the Device settings to -2 so that the timecode was falling in all the right spaces, like the hole punch and what not.
Now when I play the clips back through FCP the audio is out of sync, BUT when I play the clips from the capture scratch folder, they play fine through Quicktime. I am curious is there something I need to set in the sequence or elsewhere? I’m sure it’s something simple but I don’t have my manuals here at work and I thought this would be the best place to start without those.

    thanks all around

I solved it, the playback setting was set to 4 frame offset for some reason…set it to 0 and everything plays back fine now.

I have that same issue with my PowerBook G4, and my PowerMac G4 Quicksilver. How exactly did you fix that sync issue?

I just went under System Preferences and clicked on the Playback Control tab, and down towards the middle there should be Frame Offset and it was set to 4 frames, after changing it to 0 everything went back into sync…not sure if your issue is the same as what I was having, but it’s a start and something really easy to fix.

    Good Luck

Would like to know if that fixes it.
