Im havng trouble still….hmmm…what do u mean set the AE project window? there are no options that I see to change the project window settings. When I import the footage it just imports…thats it. its there. when I drag it down into the time line its squished. So I right click on the footage file in the project window, say interpret footage, main, then just hit okay. not sure what to do next

OK well let me ask u guys this then, is there a way to export just one piece of the timeline as a quicktime movie instead of an entire sequence? That way, I can go shot for shot, add the effects, and reimport back into FCE and just replace the raw shot with the final shot in the timeline. Reason being is, I have raw sequences that are basically cut but have no effects. I’d hate to have to go back and re edit the entire sequence by dragging clips into the timeline and exporting them one by one…does this make sense? kind of hard to explain..i dont know

Thanks guys Ill try it. In some cases I am only exporting single clips, But sometimes whole sequences. Should I not export entire sequences? I have a gunfight in my movie that I just want to go in and add muzzle flashes and blood spurts and instead of exporting each of the shots in which my characters are firing or getting hit, why not just export the entire sequence that way I can do it all at once in AE? Right?

YES! source compression. How do I go about doing that? I’ve been just exporting the sequences using no compression type and then for the size i just set it to “current.” What ahould I do to make it export as “source compression?” I shoot with a Sondy HDR FX1 but the particular project im working on now is shot in SD….No HD on this project.

Thats actually good to hear. But what about HOW I export when going back and forth from FCE and AE? should I just export the shots with compression type “none” ?
