Ok so I have everything ready to go, my easy setup is set to ntsc dv, but when I go to checkmark “all frames” it stays on “off” for some reason. ivr tried a few times but it just stays on “off…”

Yea I’ve heard of steven wright and seen some youtube vids on a basic overview of Shake. Can you link me to that DVD or the 25 dollar a month online deal?

Dave I realize this. It’s telling me to convert my HDV footage to another codec….which is what I thought I was doing when I exported my video to photo jpeg codec…sometime this week ill try and do a screen capture video for you and send u a link so u can see what I am doing. It may help more if you actually watch how I go about it. Im not sure how else to describe or fix what is happening.

This does not seem to work for me. Im on a mac. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. i go up to preferences and before I push it, i hold shift then click on preferences but nothing seems to happen…

In FCE 4 I simply exported my video as a self contained video. From there I’ve imported that into AE.
I’ve also tried videos I’ve already made and compressed in the past by reconverting them to another codec like photo jpeg. still seems to happen though.
The project seems to work out okay in the beginning until I get to a certain point….then everything ive done to that point freezes…very very odd.

by the way, shot this in HDV. I use a Sony HDR FX1

Ok well….I’m pretty positive it’s one of those. but I’m certain that at least half of them have been exported out of final cut express 4 as self contained QT movies. So then what?

Hey thanks to everyone who messaged me about this little project I am trying to tackle. Check out the test I did last night for it. I posted it on my site. It’s basically the angle and idea I’m going for. What do u think?

What im doing is, setting the camera up so it filming directly down onto a surface…like a brown table. Then all i am doing is having a handful of polaroid pictures lined up next to each other and each one will have video inside it where the picture normally would be. the camera never moves and there are no people involved in this shot except the video that will be placed inside the pictures. see?
