…thanks for the all the input everyone. Haven’t been very satisfied with my past Dell configurations so have decided to build my own based on Videoguys build 9.5 or 10 mid-level pc build.
Looked at an interesting comparable build on a CPCR website recently. Am not too familiar with who CPCR is but it seems they might be connected with Cyberpower PC.Haven’t read much favorable about their pre-configured boxes, however am not sure if that applies to their build recommendations.
It’ll be my first build. Wish me luck and thanks again for all the help..i think…lol

thanks Mike..have read some conflicting info in some of the forums and am a little confused.I have a few projects that need completing and didn’t want additional problems. Right now what i have is working, however if you recommend 8.0c i’ll update to that once they’re done.

i apologize if this is a little off the topic, but does anyone know where i can update my version 8.0a to 8.0b? I only see 8.0c available on Sony’s website which i am not interested in , and can’t afford Pro9 at the moment. Emailed Sony with this question however received no response. Help anyone please?…Thanks

Hey Shad…i have vegas pro 8.0a and the same camera and have not had problems editing avchd. My pc specs are much like yours with 2gb ram , however i run 32 bit xp pro. Sony has free updates to 8.0c which supposedly addresses some issues with 64 bit Vista. I also purchased VASST Upshift which creates proxy files making it easier to edit for those with less powerful computers, however have not had to use it. Once editing is complete, files can be reconverted. Lot of info is available in the Sony Vegas forum so you might want to check there…
Hey Terry…guess i am still a little confused.I selected NTSC DV because i didn’t see a DV option in the template drop down menu. So should i select the “default template (uncompressed)” to render an exact copy?…Thanks again

Hey Terry…am still a little confused. I selected the NTSC DV template because i didn’t see an DV option. Degrading the quality is not what i am after. Should i be using the “default template (uncompressed)” to produce exact copies of the regions i select? …Thanks again

rendering to NTSC DVD seems to have taken care of at least the file size problem…thanks Terry, appreciate the help….
