Update: I found the missing clips. For a strange reason, some clips were not shown in numerical order, in Explorer and in Premiere…

    Thanks anyway

Thanks for the reply Ted. Can instant HD scale 720 footage up to 1080? If yes, that could be a solution. Thanks.

Another question regarding my project. Is it better to zoom in with the camera or with the scale tool? Does it give the same result or one way is better than the other (in preserving the image quality)?

    Thanks.

    Hi Todd,

thanks for your answer. I know there’s no way around the pixilation. All I want is make it the best possible, without reshooting 🙂

I was looking for After Effects tricks that would not need buying a plugin but maybe I can force the company I work for into spending some cash. In the link you sent me, they talk about Deemon SuperResolution, which seems to be what I need. Have you (or other people from the cow) ever tried it. I also found a plugin called video enhancer: https://www.infognition.com/

It is 40$ compared to 100$ for the toolfarm one.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Another thing,

I have many sequences in which I need to do the same thing. this morning, I did it with success, with the same settings. i just tried another sequence and it works fine. Weird.

    Hi Jeremy,

I received a TGA sequence of a dancer (originally, he was in front of a green screen but the footage was keyed) with a transparent bg. I made an animation sequence in QT and imported it in FCP. What I want is the dancer to slowly appear/disappear. Originally, I used a cross dissolve. After your comments, I used the pen tool and keyframed opacity, with the same results. I also used the fade in-out effects, with no luck.

    Any other suggestions?

Hi John, thanks for your answer. But, it doesn’t really solve my problem. I think I found the problem: my master clips need to have a reel name. I’m gonna try this when I have time and let you know if it solved my problem.
